ProgressiveVNC is a new incarnation of VNC,
implementing a new encoding, dubbed "progressive
encoding". Progressive encoding allows you to send
framebuffer information in multiple passes to the
client. This results in a very responsive desktop
that still allows a perfect reconstruction of the
original desktop.
