FbTerm is a fast terminal emulator for Linux that uses the frame buffer. It is mostly as fast as the Linux kernel's terminal when accelerated scrolling is enabled on the frame buffer device. It allows you to select fonts with fontconfig, auto-detect and convert text encoding with support for double width scripts like Chinese and Japanese etc, dynamically create and destroy up to 10 windows, record scroll-back history for every window, and copy/paste selected text between windows with mouse the when the gpm server is running.

Redirection of /dev/tty0 output to FbTerm's sub-window was added. The "ambiguous-wide" option was added to treat ambiguous CJK characters as wide width. The "font-height" option was added to force font height. The shortcut CTRL_ALT_K was added to kill the frozen IM server. A bug where curses line drawing characters give inverted questions marks was fixed. A text auto selection bug was fixed. A logical error in terminal insert mode was fixed. A few other bugs were fixed.

This release added VESA video card support and rendering messages for IM server development. It fixed a bug where Ctrl+Space was a shortcut even when run without the "input-method" option, a bug that occurred when FbTerm wasn't compiled with gpm mouse support but run in a gpm server enabled environment, an IM program dead loop bug triggered by a FbTerm crash, and several spelling errors in the help message and man page.

Support was added for text rendering with a backround image. Command-line arguments were added to customize the command executed in a sub-window.
