The Astro::ADS module is an OO Perl interface to
the Astrophysics Data System (ADS) abstract
service. The ADS is a NASA-funded project whose
main resource is an Abstract Service, which
includes four sets of abstracts: astronomy and
astrophysics, instrumentation, physics and
geophysics, and Los Alamos preprint server.

Astro::DSS Module is an object orientated Perl module that provides an interface to both the first and second Digital Sky Surveys at the ESO-ECF online archive. While the first sky survey is 100% complete, the second survey covers 98% of the sky in Red, 45% of the sky in Blue, and 27% of the sky in Infra-red.

NexControl is a simple Perl program that controls
a Celestron NexStar series telescope. It should
work on any other platform that supports Perl and
/dev serial ports. As of 2005, development on this
project has stopped.

lin-seti is a command line program allowing the
user to mantain a cache of work units for the
Seti@Home client. It should run without any
problem on Unix-like systems, including Linux. It
is designed to be fully compatible with SETI
Driver (similar software for Windows), so you can
share the same cache on dual boot systems.

fundamental uses reverse polish notation and can search for formulas for
sequences of numbers as well as relationships between constants.

Java SETI Monitor tracks the current progress of
work units that are available on the local machine,
or on the network through a share, or mount. The
tool also provides individual user statistics, and
generates alerts when the stats change.

AstroFocuser is a very simple tool to help star focusing in astrophotogaphy.
It applies an FWHM by transparency on the background window.

IridiumFlares is an application that can predict
the flares made by the constellation of the
communication satellites known as Iridium. A flare
is a very bright phenomenon that occurs when the
light of the sun or the moon is reflected by one
of the satellites' antennas.

PyNOVAS allows you to calculate the position and
movement of the sun, moon, planets, and stars
with great precision using Python. It is based
on the NOVAS software used by United States
Naval Office (USNO) to produce the 'Astronomical
Almanac' and 'MICA'. Ephemerides are supplied by
the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). You can use
this software for Celestial Navigation, and also
as a basis for controlling astronomical
equipment.

Hijra Islamic Calendar هجرة is an application for viewing the Islamic calendar (also known as Hijri calendar). It features a GUI with a tray applet. It includes both a high-level OOP library and a low-level library which can be used to implement other software that makes use of this type of calendar. It uses a special algorithm which gives much better precision than other known algorithms. It uses integer operations to avoid round off errors in floating point operations.

KAstrometry is an astrometry program for KDE. It
is written in Python. It aims to be a good tool to
make measurements of objects in space from images
taken by CCD cameras. Such measurements might be
used to find orbits of astroids or record the
brightness of variable stars. One day, it should
be able to record an object's position, detect
stars, and find coordinates using star catalogs.

seti bash script can be used as a console tool to
display information about a running SETI@home
client. It can also be used to start or stop the
client.

The PHP SETI@home web monitor is a very simple PHP script to monitor a single SETI@Home program running on a workstation or server via the local Web server. It displays general information of the user, the current work unit and the processing statistics. It also displays a skymap to show the source of the current data.

Avsomat is a variable star astronomy framework. It supports the automating of observation scheduling, identification and photometry of variable stars on CCD images, reporting, management, and verification of results. It uses electronic charts of the variable star fields and maintains a view of the current results in the form of a collection of interlinked Web pages with feedback forms, allowing members of the observer community to participate in locating errors.
