Mavscript allows the user to do calculations in a text document. Plain text and OpenOffice Writer files (odt) are supported. The calculation is done by the algebra system Yacas or by the Java interpreter BeanShell.

The console output is more readable when the option --verbose is enabled. A problem with the characters < and > in OpenOffice has been resolved. The algebra engine Yacas has been updated. Syntax highlighting for Mavscript templates in Kwrite and Jedit has been added.

Mavscript is fully platform independent, and runs on all platforms supported by Java (or recent GNU Classpath versions). The package includes the new Java port of the computer algebra system Yacas. Support for ODT and HTML templates has been improved. Documentation has been updated.
